The School of English is a large and successful academic department with over 45 members of academic staff, a large cohort of students on both its undergraduate and taught MA programmes and a vibrant research student community.

| Role responsibilities |
As part of its commitment to providing an excellent student experience and the highest level of support to its students, the School of English is seeking to appoint a Student Support Officer. Reporting to the School Education Service Manager and operating as part of the wider Student Education Service within the Faculty and the University, you will develop tailored and individual pastoral support for the School’s students. The post will involve opportunity to develop further Student Education Enhancement activities, as appropriate. |
| Person specification |
Experience of working with students is required along with strong problem solving and analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Experience of working in Higher Education, including an understanding of student education and a pastoral support background would be advantageous. |
