An excellent opportunity has arisen through a Maintenance Engineer Internship at W. Hallam Castings Ltd based at Thorne near Doncaster. Hallam Castings specialise in aluminium pressure die casting and supplying a wide range of components to predominantly UK industrial customers.

The company works closely with the University of Sheffield on technical issues.

Hallam castings have numerous die casting machines and a fully automated powder coating plant on site. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving the computer-based system of state of the art machinery, recording details of maintenance undertaken for each machine and for planning routine maintenance and statutory inspections.

Specialist resources will have to be brought in for much of the maintenance; the Maintenance Engineer will be expected to co-ordinate and control this within a budget.

The candidate should possess
• a good knowledge and experience of Word and Excell
• knowledge and understanding of Machine Control Systems
• previous experience of CAD

The ideal candidate must be out-going, a good communicator and planner with excellent technical skills.

This Internship will run for a period of 12 months and will have both on and off site support from a number of experienced engineers.
