| Job details: | Children and Families Service are inviting practitioners skilled and experienced in working with families to apply to work as a Parent Support Adviser. We are looking to appoint an individual with a clear commitment to improving the life chances of children, young people and families. As key member of the Multi Agency Support Team in Service Districts you will work in partnership with schools and the wider community to deliver prevention and early intervention support to parents. Building on the strengths and resilience of families you will work with parents to help improve the behaviour and attendance of their children, overcome barriers to learning and increase parental engagement in their children’s learning. Ideally, you will have experience of working within an educational, social services, welfare or voluntary sector setting. A clear understanding of the key issues facing parents and knowledge of social and emotional factors that affect children’s capacity to learn are essential to the role, together with experience of delivering individual or group based support. Experience of successfully implementing a new project or role would be desirable. We value diversity and are committed to recruiting from all sections of the community.
