Sheffield Hallam Careers and Employment Service are currently running a number of internship schemes, funded by Yorkshire Forward and HEFCE. Working with local employers, we are offering twelve week placements for graduates of 2008 and 2009, designed to develop and enhance your employability. These schemes offer you the opportunity to gain valuable work experience to help in your chosen career path.

Job details: Dead Earnest is a successful and highly regarded small company that put all their efforts into delivering high quality projects. However, what this also means is that they are conscious that they don’t put enough time into telling other people about what we do and have achieved.

Therefore they are looking for a graduate who is able to use their written skills to look at and revamp how they talk about themselves and how they can capture the essence of specific projects.

The intern will be put on tasks such as writing copy for printed publicity material and the web, instigating and updating a website blog, writing case studies and articles for the local, national and trade press and developing an e-newsletter.

Essential skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good grasp of IT (including some knowledge of website maintenance – training can be offered)
- Ability to work on own and as part of a team
- Resourcefulness - ability to investigate, research and appropriate techniques when necessary
- Reflectiveness - ability to step back and learn from mistakes
- Resilience - ability to work through problems and change approach
- Willingness to muck in to support other staff in delivering projects
- An interest in using the arts to achieve social outcomes.

Journalism / marketing / copy writing / English / Film & Media Production / photography / Performance.
