Free reasons to use your Careers Service!
Last month we asked you whether you had ever used your University Careers Service. We're happy to say that a whopping 80% said yes, with around a quarter telling us they used theirs on a regular basis!
We think that's great, but for the 20% of you that have yet to visit your Careers centre here are a few reasons why you should pop along today and see what's on offer.
- Careers services offer guidance to students of their University absolutely free! This can include CV checks and interview workshops. If you're a recent graduate you may still be able to get advice from your old University, the best thing to do is ask.
- If you're thinking about starting your own business or working as a free lancer after University, your Careers Service will able to help you find out about what free training, business advice and funding is on offer.
- Many careers services run events and careers presentations where you can meet prospective graduate employers. These can range from large recruitment fairs to individual employer presentations.

All the employers you'll meet at this event will be offering jobs within 20 miles of the University of Bradford. Simple really!

Engineering opinions wanted!
Are you or have you studied an engineering related degree? We'd love to find out your thoughts on engineering in higher education and how well it equips you for the world of work!
Come along to our focus group to be held on the afternoon of Thursday, March 12th, close to Sheffield City Centre. There'll be plenty of tea and coffee on offer as well as sweet treats to get the conversation going. All participants will be rewarded with a goody bag including a £20 Amazon voucher for their troubles.
The session will last no longer than 2 hours and will be a perfect opportunity to add to your CV some practical experience of labour market research and application of communication skills. It will also be a chance for you to have your opinion heard on skills in engineering and how the skills gap between education and work can be filled.
