East Yorkshire

In the East of Yorkshire lies the region known as The Humber which covers the East Riding of Yorkshire plus North East Lincolnshire (and is more usually referred to as Humberside). Boasting sweeping countryside and ample coastal locations, this region offers attractive house prices and living costs, making it the perfect place to get yourself on the property ladder!

Home to the city of Hull, plus the sizeable towns of Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Beverley and Goole, career opportunities exist across the region, which is well-connected by a good transport network. Hull boasts a major rail station, a port (ideal for a weekend in Amsterdam or Bruges) plus a small airport, as well as the mighty Humber Bridge.

With its long coastline, East Yorkshire is also renowned for its great seafood. You’re guaranteed fantastic fish & chips here, especially in some of its popular seaside resorts which are great for a quick getaway on a weekend. Nearby Bridlington is a real old fashioned seaside town where you can expect to find crazy golf, arcades and old fashioned seafood stalls, as well as busloads of optimistic Yorkshire folk braving the bracing English weather to enjoy an ice cream by the sea.

Hull is the major city in the region and has a thriving student population and everything that comes along with it – great pubs, bars and clubs and the odd pound-a-pint a night. Hull has invested heavily in regeneration in recent years with a brand new city centre shopping environment, plus a vibrant quayside development centred around the award-winning attraction ‘The Deep’. Much more redevelopment is planned for the city and with local football club Hull City's recent promotion to the Premiership expected to spring Hull 5 years ahead in its economic development, more investment in the city can be expected. With a modest terraced house starting at just £25,000, buying property in the area could be a great investment.
