Time to congratulate not speculate!

Last updated 26-Aug-10 09:42

It seems this summer we've been hit with a turbulent storm of negative media coverage surrounding exam results.  First off we had graduation, where most students were scared to an inch of their life with the news:

‘there are 69 graduates applying for each job' - which isn't always the case!

Then came along A-levels, this time with the auspicious A* grade, which confused some of us older folk!  It is put in place to distinguish the academic elite, some were a bit wary of it, but with just over 8% gaining this result we think it's something to be proud of!

And for the final part of our trilogy an amazing outcome for all GCSE students but mockery was once again abundant for how ‘exams are getting easier'.

Well here at GY towers we want to pause for a moment to congratulate you all and say......

‘WELL DONE!'

Well done to those of you who have been working hard for the last couple of years and got the results you wanted. Ignore the talk of exams getting easier, and take a moment to pat yourself on the back. Whilst the education and job market is difficult at the moment, there should always be room to celebrate success.

So you've got the grades and eagerly looking forward to your future.  I'm not saying it's particularly easy at the moment but there are still opportunities out there.  The thing you've got to do is:

‘make yourself hireable'

How you wonder?  Well over the coming weeks we'll be giving you our handy tips and advice about how to get yourself that ideal role!
