Graduates Yorkshire's first intern has been so successful in her role; she has been rewarded with a full time position.
University of Sheffield Law graduate Siobhan Brodie was taken on by the social enterprise as their intern on a 3 month contract earlier in the year.
The organisation has been so impressed with her work she has been offered a permanent position with Graduates Yorkshire.
The social enterprise is the leading graduate recruitment service in the region and helps match graduates with appropriate vacancies. It also runs the Graduates Yorkshire Internship Programme which promotes paid-for internship schemes in Yorkshire and the Humber.
The process aims to make those who apply for an internship more employable by offering paid work experience as well as advice and feedback even for unsuccessful applicants.
Martin Edmondson, Chief executive of Graduates Yorkshire, said: "Siobhan is our very own success story. We have created first hand evidence that interns are extremely valuable to companies."
"We are impressed with Siobhan's work and attitude and we are confident that she will continue to grow as an asset within Graduates Yorkshire."
"Internships can offer businesses a fresh perspective, new skills and enthusiasm as well as providing valuable work experience for graduates."
Siobhan says: "The Graduates Yorkshire internship has been a great opportunity and helped me prove my worth in a working environment.
"The graduate's jobs market is very competitive and my initial role offered me a foot on the careers ladder that ultimately lead to a full time role. I am proof that internships work."
