Who we are

GraduatesYorkshire.co.uk is dedicated to matching employers in Yorkshire & Humber with the best graduate talent. Operating in partnership with the region’s 10 University Careers Services, we offer a range of recruitment-based services to provide all the information and support that graduates and employers need to find each other. In addition to providing all the benefits of a large jobsite, we also offer a number of services that are delivered locally by our partner Universities. GraduatesYorkshire is currently funded by Yorkshire Forward.

History

GraduatesYorkshire is a comprehensive service built on the success of the original Graduate Link project. Graduate Link was established in 1996 to provide a recruitment service to meet the growing demand for graduates in SMEs. Its services later expanded to help employers of any size. Graduate Link’s activities are still going strong today under the new name of GraduatesYorkshire.

Milestones:

1996
April - Graduate Link established as a service for SMEs by the Yorkshire & Humber Higher Education Careers Advisory Services, funded by a grant from the Department for Education & Employment.
August - Graduate Link handled its first vacancy.

1998
September - Graduate Link received European Social Fund (ESF) funding, enabling the development of new services for SMEs, including a CV Matching Service.

2000
Graduate Link received further ESF funding, enabling the continuation of existing services for SMEs and development of new web-based training programmes.

2002
July – Graduate Link came together with other regional projects to form the GraduatesYorkshire initiative, funded by Yorkshire Forward.
Funding allowed development of services including careers guidance, career coaching, enterprise activity, job sector data, and LMI studies.
Graduate Link’s recruitment services extended to large and public sector organisations.

2005
July – Graduate Link launched JobsByEmail
October – Graduate Link handled its 10,000th vacancy.

2007
May – Graduate Link named changed to GraduatesYorkshire following rebranding.
May – New website and services launched.

Who we work with:

Yorkshire JobShops is a collaboration between all JobShops (or Student Employment Services) operating in Higher Education Institutions within the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Yorkshire Forward is the Regional Development Agency charged with improving the Yorkshire and Humber economy.

Yorkshire Universities provide a forum for the 11 Universities and 3 Higher Education Colleges in the Yorkshire and Humber region to work together, and act as their collective voice in the region.
